September 27 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am
Employee Assistance Professionals Assn. International Conference – keynote address
Hilton – St. Louis Union Station – St. Louis, MO
PRESENTER: Nancy Board, MSW – Co-Founder and COO, Global Women 4 Wellbeing
Women make up more than half the workforce globally yet earn at least 20% less than men. In some countries, women have less control over their assets and limited or no financial independence. A woman’s ability to earn money through her lifetime is diminished due to care-taking responsibilities. Women’s health, wealth, wellbeing and its impact on career performance are rarely addressed in the workplace. Worldwide, gender equity is going backwards.
For women to thrive we have to do more than march, lean in and join affinity groups.
The work culture has to support healthy female leadership or organizations will continue to lose top female talent. When qualified women are leading well, there are stronger financial returns (Harvard Business Review).
This session will explore some of the challenge’s that many women face when rising in leadership. We will look systemically and holistically at the issues, to better understand the complexity. And we will offer practical steps for EA professionals to consider.
