Bird of Humanity

Transcript

Nancy: Hi everyone, I’m Nancy Board, co-founder of Global Women 4 Wellbeing and I have the privilege of standing here with Lynne Twist. I just finished a workshop with Lynne about the Soul of Money which is something that is very important to me and I know that it’s important to women worldwide. Our mission is helping to establish healthy female leadership for a more sustainable world. And I’d love for you to just take a moment and speak about the importance of healthy female leadership and about sustainability in our world.

Lynne: Well I think the best thing to do is to tell you a Cherokee prophecy about this century and this century is called, in my way of speaking, the Sofia Century. The Sofia Century. The century when women will take our rightful role in co-equal partnership with men and the whole world will come into balance. And there’s a Cherokee prophecy about this century that says the bird of humanity has a male wing and a female wing. And the bird of humanity has been flying for centuries with primarily only its male wing and the female wing has been un-fully extended. Been somewhat truncated, somewhat shy. While the male wing has had to keep the bird of humanity afloat so it has become over muscular, over developed, and, in fact, become violent. And the bird of humanity has thus been flying in circles as a result. The prophecy says that in the 21st century the female wing will fully extend and express itself fully in men and women. The male energy or the yang energy will relax and the bird of humanity will soar.

You are the key to the bird of humanity soaring. Express yourself. Fulfill your destiny. Allow that wing to fully express in your life and in the lives of men and women everywhere. That’s what’s missing and when that is fulfilled violence will relax. Over yang stuff will relax. And I love that prophecy because it doesn’t make anybody wrong. It gives us all a chance to blossom.

So thank you for the work you’re doing. Thank you for working with Nancy, who’s such a gem! And who has both wings fully underway after this workshop for sure. And thank you for giving me the opportunity to share with you.

Nancy: Thank you. We are the ones that are going to make the difference. We’re the change agents. Thank you.
